ABOUT THE BETTER BODY CLUB

The Better Body Club Club was founded by Lisa Lingard in 2009 on her return from living and working abroad for a number of years.


Lisa is a fully qualified fitness professional with over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, she has used her knowledge and experience to build a business that offers a wide range of classes. She now has a team of instructors working alongside her, all of who have a passion for bringing high-quality classes to their clients. The team pride themselves on being friendly and welcoming to everyone and ensure that whatever fitness needs clients have, the program is so varied and exciting that there will be a class to suit all.


The Better Body Club has a proven record of obtaining great results for its clients, looking to the industry for all the latest innovations and advice to always deliver classes that are safe, effective, and relevant.

LISA LINGARD


After her initial training with Future Fit, Lisa started her fitness career in Military gyms abroad, both in Cyprus and Belguim before heading back to the UK in 2009.


At this time she settled in Warsash and set up her company, the Better Body Club. Lisa believes that fitness should be for everyone regardless of their injuries, age or class preference and has worked to create a timetable that reflects this. Although Lisa enjoys teaching a wide variety of classes she has a particular love of dance, Pilates and music.


She has now moved to Denmead where she has set up another venue to teach fitness classes and her spare time is taken up with even more physical activity walking her 3 dogs and taking her 2 daughters out on their horses.

MARTINE MACDONALD

Martine has always enjoyed all types of sport and fitness, running, squash, skiing, and fitness classes.


After taking early retirement from her banking career she qualified as a Pilates teacher and started teaching for the Better Body Club. She teaches all levels of Pilates including Chair Pilates. She also takes some Keep Fit and Toning & Strength classes.

BETSY CAMPBELL

Betsy is committed to helping students cultivate a well-rounded practice that incorporates mindfulness, movement, and breath work. As a trained breath coach, she can provide students with specific techniques to regulate their breath and calm their mind.

ANITA HOOK

Anita has taught tap, ballet and modern dance to both children and adults for many years.


She is a busy lady as she runs her own dance school in Kent and also works as a book keeper.


In recent years she has qualified in Mat Work Pilates and Personal Training and teaches a variety of these types of classes for the Better Body Club.

SARAH JAQUES

Sarah is a passionate and experienced movement specialist with a deep commitment to making exercise accessible, empowering, and sustainable for all. She first discovered Pilates in 2009 while seeking rehabilitative exercise to help manage the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Sixteen years later, Pilates remains an integral part of her life — supporting her recovery from injuries, maintaining overall wellbeing, and keeping her out of the physio’s office!

Sarah’s classes are rooted in a deep understanding of the body and a belief in the transformative power of mindful movement. Her teaching blends precision, compassion, and a touch of humour, whether she's guiding a dynamic Pilates session or a calming, breath-focused yoga practice.

In addition to her Pilates expertise, Sarah is a Yoga Alliance RYT 500-hour qualified yoga teacher, offering Hatha and Yin-influenced classes that weave together movement, traditional philosophy, breathwork, and relaxation. These styles perfectly complement her Pilates teaching, supporting complete mind-body maintenance.

Sarah specialises in working with individuals who live with orthopaedic conditions such as osteoporosis, sciatica, arthritis, and scoliosis, as well as those managing other health concerns that can make traditional exercise challenging. Her passion for inclusive fitness has led to a long-standing partnership with Havant Borough Council’s Get Up and Goprogramme, which promotes physical activity among residents with mild to moderate physical or mental health conditions.
